For the last couple of weeks, we have been celebrating the author, Mo Willems. We have read lots of his books, learned about his life, and used his writing to make us better writers. To end our study, we had a hot dog party in honor of the book "The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog." We brainstormed things the pigeon would want on his hot dog.
The students are enjoying learning about the author, Mo Willems. They love reading the Pigeon books. They brainstormed what would happen if they let the pigeon drive the bus. They are also learning to use speech bubbles in their writing. Next week, we plan to write a letter to Mo Willems, do some more writing with the pigeon books, and have a hot dog party.
